As some of you may (or may not) know, Selena Gomez is the current cover for Cosmopolitan. To be honest, I find that funny. I don’t even know why I think it’s funny. Anyway, in that volume, Selena opened up about her ‘past relationship’. She said, and I quote, ‘I had to go through different exits and take separate cars and do the craziest things, and it just really wasn’t worth it. It’s like a year of my life completely wasted.’
It really hadn’t been a surprise when a lot of fans speculated about the last line. Being a fan myself, I had a wild guess which I think most of us would agree to. If my guesses are actually precise, then Nelena (Nick and Selena) fans would get that she totally meant Nick in that statement. Quite frankly, I got a bit brokenhearted myself when I saw that video in ClevverTV. For years, I only understood Nick’s side of the story which mostly focuses on keeping their relationship as private as possible, so people won’t make up stuff about the two of them. If you ask me, with all the fame they both were getting even before, what Nick did was kind of sweet. I guess Selena just didn’t appreciate that especially now that she simply implied that she wanted the whole world to know about them.
What bothers me right now after reading a specific blog post about this whole thing, though, is the fact that it seemed as if the girl who just said that statement wasn’t Selena; it’s like she’s a different person. But, whatever, right? People do change. I just prefer the old Selena Gomez better. You know, the Selena Gomez we all knew as Alex Russo, the 15-year old who dived in a chocolate pool on the floor. Not being bias or something, but I seriously prefer Nick and her’s relationship over the present one. This new one just gave her more haters; people refer to her as _____’s girlfriend, not Selena Gomez anymore; most importantly, people made her look like an attention whore who just dates the famous people to become famous - people think that her present relationship right now is exactly what made her to be the Selena Gomez we all know right now. And it’s really sad. [Want proof that she made her own name even without dating Nick Jonas? Read this.]
